A. Job Objective
To lead and manage the mechanical design team for development of innovative and high-quality machinery and automation solutions. The role involves project planning, team handling, design validation, cross-functional coordination, and ensuring timely delivery of projects with required functionality, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
B. Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Planning
• Lead and manage the complete mechanical design team.
• Plan resource allocation and monitor project timelines.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in product design.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, GMP, ISO, and CE standards.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for successful project execution.
Functional Responsibilities
• Review customer requirements, technical specifications, and project scope.
• Guide the team in concept development, detailed engineering, and design validation.
• Approve design drawings, layouts, BOMs, and release documents.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning teams on technical issues.
• Handle technical discussions with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
• Ensure proper material selection and bought-out component selection such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, etc.
• Monitor project progress and resolve design-related challenges.
• Support cost optimization and value engineering activities.
Team Handling Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and develop design engineers and draftspersons.
• Assign tasks and monitor team performance.
• Conduct regular review meetings and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure proper documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Build a positive and collaborative work environment.
Internal Process
• Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports.
• Ensure proper documentation and revision control.
• Coordinate with production, purchase, electrical, software, and quality departments.
• Participate in management review and project planning meetings.

D. Required Skills

Strong experience in machine building, packaging machines, conveyors, rotary equipment, automation systems, etc.

Strong leadership and team handling capability.

Expertise in GD&T, mechanical calculations, and material selection.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly practices.

Proficiency in Solid Edge / SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D.

Good understanding of ISO, GMP, and CE compliance.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
