Description
The Assistant General Manager – Risk & Compliance Operations leads risk monitoring, fraud investigations, regulatory compliance, and statutory reporting (FIU/STR), while managing disputes, chargebacks, and law-enforcement/NCRP/ombudsman escalations. The role also strengthens internal controls, improves compliance systems, and supports safe client/merchant onboarding and performance monitoring. Engage with Law Enforcement Agencies, Statutory bodies and relevant authorities including supporting them in investigations including visit to their offices/travelling as an when required giving them process clarity, approach and concluding the same. The acquisition of new clients and merchants while monitoring their performance to align with organizational goals. Oversee and manage the organization's risk management framework, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations. Continuously improve compliance systems and ensure the organization remains up-to-date with regulatory changes. Drive product development and innovation to enhance customer experience and organizational competitiveness. (internal team) Monitor all product transactions for suspicious activity, flagging, holding, and investigating potential risks. Retrieve and analyze documents, conduct thorough investigations, and release transactions upon completion of the investigation. Prepare STR reports for submission to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) based on Red Flag Indicators (RFIs) and pre-defined rules. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to comply with regulatory obligations. Create, review, and modify rules for tracking suspicious transactions, suggesting system-level changes for risk mitigation. Oversee the NCRP system (National Crime Record Portal) to ensure prompt action on law enforcement-reported cases within 24 hours. Investigate merchant activities, manage fraud-related escalations, and take legal action (online/offline) when necessary. Handle chargeback and dispute cases, aiming to recover funds and prevent future occurrences. Liaise with law enforcement agencies to address fraud-related cases and support investigations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement system improvements and updates based on evolving risks. Provide oversight on high chargeback cases and ensure effective dispute resolution. Conduct risk management training for internal team members and other stakeholders, increasing awareness of risk indicators and fraud prevention techniques. Liaise with banking ombudsman for BO complaints and resolve disputes related to fraud or chargeback cases. Lead legal efforts to address fraud cases, working with legal teams to pursue appropriate actions. Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards when managing disputes and escalations.
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Law or a related field. 8+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related role within the financial services industry.
