Job Description: Hospital Pharmacist Position Title: Hospital Pharmacist Department: Pharmacy Reports To: Pharmacy Manager/Supervisor Location: Apollo Pharmacy- Hospital Based Pharmacy- Bangalore Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, arranging, and storing medications, as well as dispensing prescriptions accurately to patients. You will play an integral role in inventory management and providing outstanding customer service, while also ensuring compliance with JCI and NABH protocols. This position includes engaging with medical professionals to clarify queries and participating in audits to maintain high standards of pharmacy practice. Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Inventory Management:
- Receive medications from suppliers and verify the delivery against accompanying documents for accuracy.
- Organize and store medications in accordance with safety and regulatory standards to ensure optimal inventory control.
- Monitor inventory levels, perform regular stock counts, and initiate reorders as necessary to prevent shortages.
- Dispensing Medications:
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications based on physician prescriptions, ensuring adherence to dosage and medication type.
- Provide clear instructions and information to patients regarding their medications, including usage, side effects, and storage.
- Clarifying Medical Queries:
- Address and clarify any medication-related questions or concerns from doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote proper medication management and patient safety.
- Customer Service:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to patient inquiries, resolving issues, and providing information about medications and health-related queries.
- Counsel patients on medication management and lifestyle modifications to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
- Documentation Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily documentation related to medication dispensing, inventory records, and pharmacy operations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory documentation requirements, including those set forth by JCI and NABH.
- Compliance and Audits:
- Follow established protocols and procedures in accordance with JCI and NABH standards to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Participate actively in JCI/NABH audits, assisting in the preparation of documentation and implementing recommended changes as necessary. Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) /Master in Pharmacy ( M.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Valid pharmacist license or registration in [Karnataka Registration Certificate-Karnataka State Pharmacy Council).
- Experience: Fresher or 1-5 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a hospital or clinical environment.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and medication therapy management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive environment with healthcare teams and patients.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and inventory control software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
