Vice President Product Marketing
Archer
Description
The VP, Product Marketing is responsible for the Archer and Evolv story end-to-end: positioning, messaging architecture, competitive displacement, analyst placement, launches, and the sales narrative that makes every Archer conversation sharper than our competitors. We are looking for an executive who has competed against ServiceNow at the platform level, has run an AI-native product positioning play, and knows how to build a PMM organization that operates at AI-first throughput.
What You'll Do
-
Own Archer's category narrative end-to-end and the Evolv AI differentiation story that separates Archer from every other GRC incumbent.
-
Build the messaging architecture for the Archer platform and Evolv AI across the seven Evolv capability domains, with segment-specific variants for CCO, CAE, CRO, CISO, and Board-level buyers.
-
Lead product launches end to end including GTM strategy, enablement, field readiness, and post-launch measurement.
-
Lead competitive strategy and intelligence including live battlecards, win/loss analysis, displacement plays, and quarterly competitive briefs to the executive team.
-
Own analyst relations strategy for Gartner, Forrester, IDC, Chartis, and Verdantix — narrative architecture, briefing strategy, evidence trail, and Archer's positioning for Magic Quadrant, Wave, MarketScape, and RiskTech100 evaluations.
-
Build the sales narrative that wins — decks, demo scripts, ROI models, objection handling frameworks, executive briefing collateral, and the competitive playbook that the field actually uses.
-
Own ICP definition and buyer persona infrastructure — shared with Demand Gen, and Sales.
-
Build and lead a high-performing PMM organization — 1x Sr. Director, 4–5x PMMs, 1x Partner Marketing Manager, 1x Competitive Intelligence Lead — develop their craft, set the bar, and drive executive-grade output across every deliverable.
-
Govern the AI agents that run continuously inside the function —including prompt strategy, output review cadence, and the human-in-the-loop quality gates that make agent output trustworthy.
-
Partner directly with the CEO, CCO, and CPTO, on Archer's category positioning — this is the most important narrative in the company, and this role carries it externally.
-
Serve as a public voice for Archer in keynotes, analyst briefings, customer advisory boards, and industry events including Archer Summit, RSAC, Gartner Risk and Compliance, and the regional GRC Summits in EMEA and APJ.
What Success Looks Like
By day 90, the Archer and Evolv category narrative is documented, internalized across the executive team, and operationalized in the sales motion.
By day 180, Archer's analyst standing has measurably advanced in Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and Chartis briefings. Sales win rates improve quarter-over-quarter, and competitive displacement is tracked and reported monthly to the executive team. The Archer Summit reveal in September delivers a category-defining moment, with customers, and analysts aligned behind the narrative.
By day 365, Archer is positioned as the GRC infrastructure layer for AI-agent governance — defensible against ServiceNow's platform play and MetricStream's AI-first messaging — and the PMM organization runs at AI-first throughput with measurable contribution to win rate, deal velocity, and analyst placement. The narrative scales without the VP being in every meeting.
You'll Thrive Here If You
-
Have run product marketing at the VP level in enterprise B2B SaaS, ideally with direct competitive history against ServiceNow at the platform level. You know their positioning, their gaps, and how to beat them in a deal.
-
Have deep domain expertise in GRC, IRM, compliance, enterprise risk, or cybersecurity. You don't need an onboarding plan to talk to a CCO, a CAE, or a regulator. You can brief Gartner cold.
-
Have positioned an AI-native product before. You know the difference between AI as a feature and AI as a category bet, and you've made the harder one work.
-
Think in systems and run a PMM organization that scales. Messaging architecture, battlecard infrastructure, enablement libraries, and analyst evidence trails are operating systems, not documents. You build them to run continuously.
-
Are an AI-first operator. You deploy agents for competitive intelligence, win/loss synthesis, persona research, and launch content. You know how to govern agent output and where humans add the most leverage.
-
Move fluently from category strategy to one-pager copy. You can write the narrative, write the press release headline, and write the deal-saving objection response — all at executive standard.
-
Have built and developed senior PMM teams. You hire well, develop people, and set the bar where the best work is the default.
-
Are commercially obsessed. Win rates, competitive displacement, analyst placement, and pipeline contribution are how you measure yourself — not content volume.
-
Operate at executive altitude. You can present to the Cinven board on Monday, brief the analyst community on Tuesday, lead a deal review with Sales on Wednesday, and write the launch press release Thursday.
Nice to Haves
-
Prior VP- or Senior Director-level product marketing leadership at ServiceNow, MetricStream, AuditBoard (Optro), OneTrust, IBM OpenPages, RSA, or another GRC, IRM, or enterprise risk software company.
-
PE-backed B2B SaaS leadership experience, with comfort presenting to PE sponsors on category strategy and value-creation thesis.
-
Established analyst relationships at Gartner, Forrester, IDC, Chartis, or Verdantix in the GRC, IRM, or risk management coverage area.
