Description
Key Responsibilities
• Use SOLIDWORKS 3D to create & review Process and piping skids, structural skids, piping layout, piping isometric, subassemblies, and assembly drawings with associated BOMs.
• Create P&IDs and PFDs based on sketches and instruction from engineering.
• Using process design information and vessel code calculation from engineering, complete manufacturing drawings and BOM.
• Using project P&IDs, creation of 3D model of equipment, piping and instrumentation layout.
• With finalized 3D model prepare manufacturing drawings and BOM for structural skid, piping isometrics and package assembly drawings.
Key Requirements
• Strong comprehension of ASME BPV VIII code and ASME B31.3 process piping code for design.
• Advanced knowledge in the use of ASME design standards (B16.5, B16.9, B16.11, etc.) for piping design.
• Understanding of structural member sizes and selection for the design of equipment skids.
• Strong comprehension of AWS standards for Weld symbol and use on fabrication drawings.
• Familiarity with shop fabrication methods (rolling, welding, machining operations) and design feasibility evaluations and cost implications.
• Competency knowledge in shop fabrication drawings, materials of construction, manufacturing, welding, post weld heat treatment (PWHT), non-destructive testing (NDT), hydrostatic testing, shop inspection (QA/QC) and documentation requirements.
• Capable of finalizing the equipment layout with consideration of design requirements, safety and accessibility. Ensures adherence to quality and cost parameters of the project.
• Proficient in use of SOLIDWORKS design software.
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD design software.
• Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office application package and ERP & MRP database driven software.
• Good organizational and project planning skills.
