Role Overview
The ideal candidate will own end-to-end accounting, month-close, intercompany processes, and controls, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. This role demands high ownership, sincerity, and a hands-on approach to driving standardization and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Month Close Ownership: Drive and own the complete month-end close cycle—journals, accruals, provisions, prepayments and review of trial balance; ensure close is on time with zero surprises.
• Accounting & Compliance: Ensure robust application of Ind AS/IGAAP (and IFRS/US GAAP exposure preferred), adherence to company accounting policies, and maintenance of accurate GLs.
• Intercompany (IC) Accounting: Lead IC billing, netting, and settlements; perform IC reconciliations, variance analysis, and timely resolution of mismatches across entities.
• Balance Sheet Integrity: Own reconciliations for key accounts (AR/AP, advances, payroll liabilities, tax ledgers, fixed assets, intangible projects, WIP); drive aging clean-up.
• Controls & SOX: Implement and operate internal controls (including SOX, if applicable), perform control testing, and remediate deficiencies with sustainable fixes.
• Standardization & Process Excellence: Design and roll out standardized close checklists, templates, and automation (ERP/Excel/BI); continuously reduce manual touchpoints and cycle time.
• Audit Management: Coordinate statutory, tax, and internal audits; prepare PBCs, respond to queries, and close open points on time.
• Stakeholder Management: Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Operations, and Shared Services to align accounting outcomes with business realities; proactively communicate risks and resolutions.
• Policies & Documentation: Maintain high-quality SOPs, desktop procedures, and RCMs; ensure version control and training for the team.
• People Leadership: Mentor a small team; review work papers; foster a culture of ownership, sincerity, and accountability.
Qualifications
• Education: CA/ MBA (Finance)/ ICWA or equivalent degree.
• Experience: 3-5+ years in controllership/accounting within IT services or large service organizations; strong track record in month close and intercompany.

Technical Skills:
o Advanced knowledge of Ind AS/IGAAP; exposure to IFRS/US GAAP advantageous.
o Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics), advanced Excel; experience with BI tools is a plus.
o Strong reconciliation, variance analysis, and ledger hygiene discipline.
