Product Manager - Software
Ather Energy
Description
The AtherStack team builds the software that makes an Ather more than a scooter. We are looking for a hands-on Product Manager to own Stay Connected experiences — the experience that keeps riders connected to their world while they ride, and to their scooter when they're away from it. You'll work across the phone, the dashboard and the vehicle, on a charter where the quality of the connection underneath decides whether a great idea ever reaches a rider. About the Role You'll be our: Product Manager You'll be based at: IBC Knowledge Park, Bengaluru You'll be Aligned with: Platform Product Manager – Connected Experiences You'll be a member of: Product Management Team What you'll do: Identify Growth Areas: Find where adoption and engagement break down for features that are genuinely new to riders and not yet a habit. Understand why a capability someone already owns goes unused, and build the case for what will change that. Infrastructure Excellence: Go deep into the tech stack and work with developers to build a connectivity platform that is reliable by default — solid enough that other PMs can build experiences on top of it without inheriting your problems. Cross-Functional Execution: Write PRDs collaboratively with firmware, mobile, design and SQA — the kind that hold up because the constraints were understood while they were being written, not discovered afterwards. The bar is finding the version of an experience that survives real limitations without quietly giving up on the rider. Root Cause & Field Validation: Get to the bottom of issues yourself — pull the logs, write the query, read the funnel, talk to the rider, and reproduce it on a scooter. Most connectivity bugs are not reproducible at a desk. Reporting & Analytics: Define and track the metrics for the charter — pairing success rate, connection rate, feature adoption, WAU and retention. Maintain instrumentation good enough that you can find a drop-off before it shows up in CSAT. Strategy & Roadmap: Write the strategy and roadmap documents that decide what gets built and why. Ground them in real inputs — conversations with riders about where the experience breaks, market and competitive analysis, and early explorations built with engineering to test whether a forward-looking idea is worth committing to. Here's what we are looking for: Technical & Domain Depth: 2–4 years owning a consumer-facing product, ideally one with a hardware or connectivity dependency. Comfort holding your own in a conversation about BLE, background service lifecycles or a firmware release train. You don't need to write the code — you do need to follow what's being said and push on it. Analytical Rigour: Proficiency in SQL is a strong plus. You should be able to open a dashboard, write your own query and reach an answer without waiting on an analyst. Defining a metric that survives scrutiny matters as much as reading one. Execution Focus: Proven ability to write detailed PRDs covering edge cases, states and exceptions — for app-side flows and firmware-side behaviour alike. Hustle: This charter has hard dependencies, tight bandwidth and constraints you cannot design your way out of. We're looking for someone who finds a route through rather than escalates for one. Other Skills: Clear, structured writing — most of your influence will be a document someone reads without you in the room. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise across quality debt and new capability. Excellent communication across engineering, design, quality and business teams. You bring to us: Experience: 2–4 years of total experience in Product Management. Background: An engineering background with a genuine interest in how hardware and software meet. Prior experience in IoT, connected devices, wearables or automotive infotainment is a strong plus but not mandatory. Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required — Computer Science, ECE or EEE preferred. Want to know more? At Ather, we've built India's first intelligent scooter, from scratch.
