• Support end-to-end product development by conducting benchmark studies, formulation trials, and iterative testing of new SKUs in the R&D lab.
• Analyze competitor products and market benchmarks to develop differentiated, effective, and commercially viable formulations.
• Conduct lab trials, sample preparation, and iterative testing to ensure products are stable, effective, and market-ready.
• Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, trials, and observations to support product development and scale-up.

Roles & Responsibilities

Benchmarking & Product Research

• Conduct benchmark studies on competitor products to understand composition, positioning, pricing, and performance.
• Analyze benchmark findings and share insights to support new product development and formulation strategy.
• Evaluate existing products to identify opportunities for improvement or differentiation.

Product Development & Formulation

• Assist in development of new product formulations based on benchmark insights and business requirements.
• Conduct lab-scale trials, experiments, and iterative testing to refine formulations.
• Work on improving product attributes such as stability, taste, texture, and effectiveness.

Lab Trials & Sample Preparation

• Conduct lab trials, sample preparation, and iterative testing to develop stable, effective, and market-ready products.
• Ensure accurate measurement, mixing, and preparation of ingredients during trials.
• Maintain consistency and repeatability in trial batches.

Stability & Testing Support

• Conduct basic stability checks and monitor product performance over time.
• Record and analyze observations related to physical, chemical, and sensory parameters.
• Support evaluation of trial batches and recommend improvements.

Documentation & Record Management

• Maintain detailed records of benchmark studies, formulations, trial batches, and results.
• Ensure all R&D documentation is structured, accurate, and traceable.
• Assist in preparing reports and summaries for product development progress.

Lab Management & Compliance

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the R&D lab.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials, samples, and chemicals.
• Follow lab SOPs and safety guidelines at all times.

Cross-functional Coordination

• Work with marketing teams to understand product concepts and positioning.
• Coordinate with production teams for pilot trials and scale-up support.
• Support new product launches by providing formulation and sample-related inputs.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Food Technology, or related scientific discipline.

1–3 years of experience in R&D, formulation, or product development roles in FMCG, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical industries.
