Position Summary
We are seeking a Tax Associate to support the preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, and international tax filings. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their technical tax knowledge, gain exposure to complex domestic and international matters, and build strong client relationships within a growing CPA firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare federal, state, and international tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
- Prepare and assist with tax forms including 1040, 1120, 1065, 5471, 5472, FBAR, and related filings.
- Review client financial information and prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.
- Assist with tax research, compliance, and client-related projects.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, resolve questions, and support timely completion of engagements.
- Collaborate with Managers, Partners, and other team members while developing strong client and internal relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
- Understanding of accounting principles, including accrual and cash-basis accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous public accounting or tax experience.
- Experience preparing individual, corporate, partnership, and/or international tax returns.
- Familiarity with UltraTax CS, CCH ProSystem, QuickBooks, and Practice CS.
- Exposure to international tax reporting, including Forms 5471, 5472, and FBAR.
