Description

  • Assessment & Evaluation

    • Conduct developmental and physical assessments for children from birth to early childhood.
    • Evaluate gross motor skills, posture, muscle tone, strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and functional abilities.
    • Identify developmental delays, movement disorders, and risk factors requiring intervention or referral.
  • Treatment Planning

    • Develop individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings and family goals.
    • Set measurable short-term and long-term goals related to motor development and functional independence.
    • Review and modify treatment plans according to the child's progress.
  • Therapeutic Intervention

    • Provide physiotherapy interventions to improve gross motor development, strength, endurance, balance, and mobility.
    • Use age-appropriate therapeutic exercises, play-based activities, positioning, and handling techniques.
    • Assist children with motor milestone acquisition such as rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, and walking.
    • Recommend and train in the use of assistive devices, orthoses, or mobility aids when required.
  • Family & Caregiver Education

    • Educate parents and caregivers on home exercise programs and developmental activities.
    • Demonstrate safe handling, positioning, transfers, and mobility support techniques.
    • Provide guidance on promoting participation in daily routines and play activities.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration

    • Work closely with occupational therapists, speech-language therapists, special educators, psychologists, pediatricians, and other team members.
    • Participate in case discussions, goal setting, and coordinated intervention planning.
    • Refer children to appropriate specialists or services when needed.
  • Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate assessment reports, treatment notes, progress records, and outcome measures.
    • Prepare reports for parents, physicians, schools, and funding agencies as required.
    • Ensure documentation complies with organizational policies and professional standards.
  • Program & Community Support

    • Participate in developmental screening programs and awareness activities.
    • Contribute to parent training sessions, workshops, and community outreach initiatives.
    • Assist in developing therapy resources and program materials.
  • Safety & Quality

    • Ensure safe therapy practices and infection-control measures.
    • Monitor equipment safety and therapy environment suitability.
    • Maintain professional competence through continuing education and evidence-based practice.
