Job Description (JD) – Production Shift Incharge Job Title: Production Shift Incharge Department: Production / Manufacturing Reporting To: Production Manager / Plant Manager Location: [Company Location] Job Summary The Production Shift Incharge is responsible for overseeing all production activities during the assigned shift, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, and operational efficiency. The role involves supervising operators, monitoring machine performance, managing manpower, and ensuring compliance with company policies and production standards. Key Responsibilities Production Operations Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily production activities during the shift. Ensure achievement of production targets as per the production plan. Monitor machine utilization, downtime, and output efficiency. Ensure smooth shift handover and communication between shifts. Take corrective actions to minimize production losses and delays. Team Management Supervise production operators and shift staff. Allocate manpower based on production requirements. Train and guide team members on operational procedures and safety practices. Maintain employee discipline and attendance during the shift. Quality Control Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications. Coordinate with the Quality team to address quality issues. Implement corrective and preventive actions for production defects. Maintain production and quality records accurately. Safety & Compliance Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety checks and promote safe working practices. Report accidents, incidents, and near-misses immediately. Ensure proper use of PPE and housekeeping standards. Maintenance Coordination Coordinate with the Maintenance team for machine breakdowns and preventive maintenance. Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities. Minimize downtime through timely escalation and follow-up. Reporting & Documentation Prepare shift production reports and daily MIS. Maintain records of production, rejection, downtime, and manpower utilization. Report shift performance to Production Manager. Required Qualifications Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 3-8 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment. Experience in handling shop-floor operations and manpower management.
