As a Perfusionist, you will play a critical role in providing life-saving cardiopulmonary bypass and extracorporeal circulation services to patients undergoing complex cardiac surgeries. Your expertise in operating extracorporeal equipment, maintaining patient stability, and monitoring various vital parameters during surgery will be key to ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and maintain extracorporeal circulation and cardiopulmonary bypass equipment during surgeries at Amrita Hospital.
• Monitor and adjust the patient's blood flow, ensuring safe circulation during cardiac procedures.
• Regulate vital signs, including blood pressure, oxygen levels, and electrolyte balance, to ensure patient stability during surgery.
• Control body temperature and monitor acid-base balance to maintain optimal surgical conditions.
• Monitor hematocrit levels, ensuring adequate blood cell count and proper oxygenation during procedures.
• Adjust patient ventilator settings and monitor cardiac output to ensure effective oxygen delivery.
• Maintain coagulation levels during surgery, ensuring that blood clots do not form in the extracorporeal system.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to address any intraoperative issues, making necessary adjustments to hemodynamic parameters and blood flow.
• Keep detailed records of all procedures and observations for accurate patient documentation.
• Ensure all perfusion equipment is sterilized, calibrated, and properly maintained before and after procedures at Amrita Hospital.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Perfusion Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Perfusionist in a hospital setting, preferably in cardiac surgery at Amrita Hospital.
• In-depth knowledge of extracorporeal circulation equipment and its safe operation.
• Ability to monitor and adjust vital signs during surgery, ensuring patient stability.
• Strong understanding of hemodynamics, oxygen delivery, and cardiopulmonary physiology.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during surgeries.
• Proficiency in using modern perfusion technology and equipment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the surgical team.
