Job Title: Permanent Way (P‐Way)

Role Overview

The P‐Way Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and ensuring quality execution of all permanent way works in railway projects. The role requires expertise in track alignment, laying, maintenance, and related civil engineering works to meet the standards and safety requirements of Indian Railways / International Railway Standards.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Design

• Review and interpret railway alignment drawings, P‐Way designs, and technical specifications.
• Prepare detailed execution plans and work schedules for track laying, ballast packing, and maintenance. Execution & Supervision
• Oversee track construction, including formation, ballast laying, sleepers, and rail installation.
• Ensure proper track geometry (gauge, alignment, level, and superelevation) as per approved drawings and standards.
• Supervise welding, fastening systems, and turnouts installation. Quality & Safety Compliance
• Ensure adherence to Indian Railways / RDSO / AREMA / UIC standards.
• Conduct inspection of materials (rails, sleepers, ballast) before and during installation.
• Implement and monitor safety measures for staff and equipment during execution. Coordination & Documentation
• Liaise with design consultants, contractors, and railway authorities for approvals and inspections.
• Maintain daily progress reports, inspection checklists, and measurement records.
• Participate in technical audits and quality inspections.

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 3–10 years of relevant experience in permanent way works for railway / metro / high‐speed projects
• Experience with ballast and ballastless track systems
• Knowledge of RDSO specifications, track geometry standards, and railway construction codes
• Proficiency in surveying equipment (Total Station, Auto Level) and track measurement tools
• Familiarity with track design software (e.g., Bentley Rail Track, AutoCAD)
