Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Website Backend Intern to join our dynamic IT Services team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or freshers eager to build a strong foundation in backend web development within a real-world, client-driven environment. As a Backend Intern, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and securing server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power scalable and efficient web applications. You will collaborate with senior developers and cross-functional teams to contribute to the full development lifecycle—from concept and design to deployment and optimization. This internship offers hands-on experience in industry-standard technologies, exposure to agile development practices, and mentorship from experienced professionals, making it a pivotal step in launching a successful career in software development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining server-side logic using server-side programming languages such as PHP, Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Support the creation and management of relational databases using MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and data integrity enforcement.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of RESTful APIs that enable seamless communication between frontend and backend systems.
• Implement and enforce web security best practices, including input validation, authentication mechanisms, and protection against common vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, XSS).
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic and ensure optimal performance and responsiveness.
• Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving backend issues in development and staging environments.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
• Assist in testing, deploying, and monitoring backend services in production environments.
• Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in backend development and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Recent graduate or currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in at least one server-side programming language: PHP, Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Strong understanding of database management with hands-on experience in MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with REST API design principles and implementation.
• Foundational knowledge of web security concepts and practices.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for full-stack context.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex technical issues.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to feedback, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
