Objective

Be responsible for financial modeling, financial analysis, valuation and risk analysis of greenfield and M&A transactions in the AMEA region (with assistance / supervision of senior members of the team as appropriate). Assist with the preparation of financing plans, selection of funding sources / banks and the structuring and execution of project financings.

Job responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation of financial models and valuation of projects in compliance with investment guidelines,
  • modelling standards and methodology
  • Responsible financial analyses or reviewing and/or audit financial models.
  • Assist with the structuring and execution of financing plans for new projects.
  • Responsible for preparation of accounting and tax impacts of transactions in financial models (where required with the support of
  • relevant expertise centers and/or external consultants)
  • Assist with analysis on risk allocation, bankability issues, optimization & tax structuring.
  • Contributes to the monitoring and/or review of internal methods for the AIFA team and responsible for adherence with methods set
  • or shared with Global AIFA. Contribute to the proposal of enhancements to financial modelling related / analytical methods.

Degree / Experience

  • Finance / Economics based degree or a professional qualification such as CFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA (or equivalent) or other                    (Engineer)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as financial analyst (preferably within a sponsor-side AIFA / project finance team or within           a Bank, financial advisory firm and/or accounting/fiscal advisory firm)
  • Proven experience in financial modelling and up-to-date proficiency in excel (including writing basic Macros)
  • Proficiency and knowledge of financial valuation methodology.

Specific Knowledge / skills

  • Strong and proven analytical skills, including proficient financial modelling.
  • Good understanding of accounting topics and tax structuring.
  • Good understanding of energy business and risk allocation frameworks.
  • Exposure to renewable and conventional energy business in India, Middle East, Africa would be an advantage.
  • Planning ability and capacity to deliver on plans and to work independently.
  • Able and willing to learn on the job and to share experiences across the team.
  • Ability to multitask and to work effectively under pressure.
  • Behavioral capabilities: problem solving, strong interpersonal skills, common sense.
  • Languages: English mandatory; French is an advantage.

Location/travel

Primary Location : Pune or Mumbai

Travel to Middle East, Africa region is expected as per job requirements

Reporting line

The Financial Analyst will report to Senior Financial Advisor or Head AIFA – India.
