Executive - Sourcing

Role Summary

Pluckk is hiring a sourcing executive to plug daily supply gaps for our Mumbai D2C operations. The role is responsible for sourcing fresh fruits and vegetables from APMC Vashi and allied Mumbai markets to cover shortfalls against planned POs, ensuring zero stockouts and high fill rates at the DC. You will work early-morning market hours, negotiate on the spot, and ensure quality produce reaches the DC in time for the day's order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify daily shortfalls against planned POs and procure shortfall quantities from APMC Vashi and other Mumbai mandis.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with APMC traders, commission agents, and farmer-vendors for reliable, on-call supply.
• Create and process POs in the system for shortfall buys; ensure accurate rate, quantity, and quality capture.
• Negotiate best market rates on the day; track price trends across SKUs and benchmark against planned costs.
• Drive fill rate targets — minimise out-of-stock SKUs at the DC and reduce customer-level shortfalls.
• Conduct on-the-spot QC at the market — reject sub-standard produce before it moves to the DC.
• Coordinate with the inbound / DC team for timely receiving, weight reconciliation, and quality acceptance.
• Track and report daily: shortfall volume, fill rate %, spend vs. plan, vendor-wise performance.
• Flag persistent shortfall SKUs and price spikes to the Category team for planning corrections.

Skills & Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in fresh F&V procurement, ideally in D2C, quick commerce, grocery, or HoReCa supply (Zepto, Blinkit, BigBasket, Otipy, FreshToHome, Country Delight, or similar).
• Strong working knowledge of APMC Vashi market — traders, commission agents, arrival patterns, peak hours, and pricing dynamics.
• Hands-on experience with PO creation in ERP / procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, Unicommerce, or similar).
• Proven vendor management skills — ability to negotiate, build trust, and ensure supply reliability.
• Strong understanding of fill rates, shortfall management, and fresh produce QC parameters.
• Comfortable with early-morning / odd-hour market shifts.
• Working Excel / Google Sheets skills for daily tracking and reporting.
• Fluency in Hindi and Marathi (essential for APMC interactions); working English for internal reporting.
