As in any e-commerce firm, the role of Technology is critical.  Our discerning customers are also the most demanding and tech-savvy.  You will frequently be expected to go above and beyond what is detailed in this job description, so take the following paragraphs as a broad direction only.

You are expected to be proficient at:

1.     Technical skills:  Technical and Web-development skills are key to our business.  Having all (or most) of these skills will help you be a strong asset to the team:

a.    Web/Coding:

                                  i.    Able to write W3C Standards Compliant, Cross Browser Compatible (IE7+, Firefox, Safari) Front-End Markup in XHTML/CSS/AJAX(Jquery)

                                ii.    Able to work with a number of MVC Frameworks and write strong scalable code

                               iii.    Ability to write and performance optimize SQL queries for MySQL

                               iv.    Mobile Application Development a big plus (iPhone, Android, Blackberry, WinMo)

                                v.    Experience programming APIs

b.    System/Network Admin:

                                  i.    Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.

                                ii.    Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.

                               iii.    Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.

                               iv.    Operate master consoles in order to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.

                                v.    Perform routine network start-up and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.

                               vi.    Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.

                             vii.    Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.

                            viii.    Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel in order to facilitate purchases.
