Software Quality Engineer – Manual and Automation-TN

We provide virtual business process services to various types of overseas clients, and this position is to be part of the team which provides software Services to client from E-commerce Platform from the USA. About the Role Measure quality of Client's software products and services. Requires knowledge of both manual and automated test methodologies. Aware of different test methods and types of testing tools, and able to choose whichever best suits the project. Develop understanding of Client domain knowledge and business requirements.

Responsibilities: Ensure product quality through various testing methods/activities. Understand or be actively learning SDLC practices, methods, conventions, and standards of the computer industry. Evaluate new work and apply appropriate test strategy. Backlog candidates for automation that cannot be completed during sprint cycles. Understand concepts and fundamentals of QA & QC, defect prevention and defect detection. Write clear concise test cases; performs black box/functional testing, assist in creation and execution of test plans. Maintain test artifacts, including Regression and E2E documentation. Plan and manage tasks in the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC). Solve and resolve issues encountered in testing; ability to troubleshoot and support product applications in a .NET/Client/Server and SQL environment. Record and track defects, defect metrics and reporting. Write SQL queries to extract meaningful test data; perform back end testing. Subject matter expert on test coverage for project area. Provide test estimates for all releases, including warm/hotfixes. Assess risk and propose software testing strategies and approaches. Understand and apply risk-based testing strategies to reduce over/unnecessary testing. Commitment to team work and continuous improvement. Working knowledge of automation tools and other tools employed by the Quality team. Engage and effectively communicates with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand business perspectives and ensure testing coverage is adequate. Ensure all environments are properly configured prior to test cycle and have adequate test data prior to testing. Effectively manage workloads, escalate gaps and bottlenecks when discovered. Evaluate project proposals for technical impact and scope to create test plans and strategies, including risk management, application security to ensure quality product and timely release. Available for scheduled off hours code releases. Automation Responsibilities: Design and code automated sanity, regression, and workflow tests. Analyze manual test cases and functional specifications to determine best approach for automating. Creates test scenarios, use automate first approach and perform manual functional testing as requiredo Oversee test environment for proper configuration and availability, including adequate data for manual and automated tests. Understand and follow coding standards and guidelines for automation: Maintain test coverage definitions and attributes for projects. Familiar with Entity Framework (ORM). Able to map objects in tests to database; create linq queries to extract needed data. Perform code reviews of automation tests for compliance with department standards. Monitor daily automation runs and raise issues, backlog or fix automation failures. Understand, monitor, and maintain automation deployment workflows.

Background in IT and a technical degree. Full stack QA Engineer: Experience with programming in at least one major coding language. Experience with test automation. Experience with both front and back-end testing; testing across all application layers. Experience with API testing.
