Data Solutions Architect

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Architect to design and oversee the implementation of large-scale, scalable, and secure data solutions in AWS. The role involves a deep understanding of AWS services, data warehousing, data lake architectures, and big data technologies. The AWS Data Architect will work closely with stakeholders across the business to translate business requirements into technical solutions that support advanced analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Architecting Data Solutions: Design scalable, reliable, and secure data architectures that leverage AWS services such as Redshift, Glue, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and EMR. Data Modeling & Storage Design: Create and optimize data models for structured and unstructured data, building robust data lakes and data warehouses that can support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML workloads. ETL/ELT Pipelines: Define and implement efficient ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion, transformation, and loading into various data storage layers, ensuring high data quality and performance. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work with business and technical teams to gather requirements, assess current data capabilities, and design future-state architectures that address long-term data needs. Data Governance & Security: Establish policies for data governance, access control, and compliance to ensure that data solutions adhere to security standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulatory requirements. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize data solutions for cost efficiency, performance, and scalability by implementing best practices in data partitioning, indexing, and query optimizationCloud Infrastructure: Leverage infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) to deploy, manage, and scale AWS data services, ensuring consistency across environments. Mentoring & Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentoring to data engineers and other team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions. Innovation & Strategy: Stay current with AWS developments, evaluating new technologies, and recommending improvements to existing data infrastructure to drive innovation.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. In-depth knowledge of AWS data services including Redshift, Glue, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, and EMR. Familiarity with big data frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, and streaming technologies like Kinesis or Kafka. Proven experience with data modeling techniques (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema) and database design for both OLAP and OLTP systems. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and experience with ETL tools and data integration platforms. Strong experience with deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using CloudFormation or Terraform. Thorough understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
