Role Overview

As an Engineering Intern at Flyett, you'll work with experienced engineers to build and improve TypeScript/JavaScript services and APIs. You'll contribute to real product work, learn modern development practices, and help ensure our integrations and endpoints are reliable, well-tested, and easy to use.

What You'll Do

• Implement and improve backend and/or full-stack features using TypeScript and JavaScript
• Build, test, and document RESTful APIs and internal services
• Use Postman (and similar tools) to validate API behavior, troubleshoot issues, and share reproducible test collections
• Write clean, maintainable code with guidance through code reviews and pairing
• Fix bugs, improve performance, and help with refactoring as the product evolves
• Collaborate with product and engineering to break down tasks and deliver incremental improvements
• Contribute to engineering documentation and team knowledge sharing

Required Skills

• Student currently at an Engineering College, pursuing their 3rd or 4th year of education.
• Working knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals (async/await, promises, modules, typing basics)
• Understanding of APIs (HTTP methods, status codes, request/response payloads, authentication basics)
• Comfort using Postman to send requests, inspect responses, and debug API issues
• Ability to communicate clearly in a remote, international environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with Node.js and common web frameworks (e.g., Express, Fastify, NestJS)
• Familiarity with Git workflows (branches, pull requests, resolving conflicts)
• Basic testing knowledge (unit/integration tests) and an interest in quality engineering
• Exposure to databases (SQL or NoSQL) and data modeling fundamentals
• Experience reading API docs (OpenAPI/Swagger) or writing simple API documentation

What Success Looks Like

• You can independently set up the project locally and run/test API endpoints
• You deliver small-to-medium features with clear PR descriptions and responsive iteration from feedback
• You debug issues methodically and communicate progress, blockers, and learnings
• You improve reliability through tests, better error handling, and clearer API behavior

• Location: Hyderabad, India (remote-friendly)
