Role Overview

As a Test Engineer Intern at Flyett, you'll work closely with experienced engineers to ensure the quality and reliability of our TypeScript/JavaScript services and APIs. You'll gain hands-on experience in modern QA practices, helping us identify bugs, design comprehensive test scenarios, and build confidence in our product before it reaches our users.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute clear, comprehensive test plans and test cases for new backend and full-stack features.
• Perform manual and exploratory testing on RESTful APIs and internal services to ensure they meet product requirements.
• Use Postman (and similar tools) extensively to validate API behavior, troubleshoot issues, and create robust, reproducible test collections.
• Identify, isolate, and track bugs efficiently, providing developers with clear reproduction steps and verifying fixes.
• Contribute to test automation by helping write and maintain basic test scripts using TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand requirements and champion quality throughout the development cycle.
• Document testing processes, API edge cases, and QA guidelines for team knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

• Engineering Graduate (Computers / IT).
• Solid understanding of software testing fundamentals (manual testing, test case creation, and the bug lifecycle).
• Strong understanding of APIs (HTTP methods, status codes, request/response payloads, authentication basics).
• Comfort using Postman to send requests, inspect responses, debug API issues, and manage environments.
• Analytical mindset with a sharp eye for detail and edge cases.
• Ability to communicate clearly and log actionable bug reports in a remote, international environment.

Nice to Have

• Working knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals for writing automated tests.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Playwright) or writing API tests directly in Postman.
• Familiarity with Git workflows (branches, pull requests) to review code changes and run tests locally.
• Exposure to databases (SQL or NoSQL) to verify backend data states during testing.
• Experience reading API docs (OpenAPI/Swagger) to design accurate test coverage.

What Success Looks Like

• You can independently set up the testing environment locally and test API endpoints.
• You consistently uncover edge cases and log clear, actionable bug reports that help engineers resolve issues quickly.
• You build and expand reliable Postman collections or automated test suites that add immediate value to the engineering team.
• You communicate proactively about testing progress, blockers, and product quality risks.
