Description
We are seeking a Finance Staff Accountant to join our Global Capability Center in Mumbai. The role will be responsible for performing daily cash reporting and credit card reconciliations, general ledger integrity, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting with accuracy and timeliness. The role supports basic accounting activities and ensures completeness of financial data. The role will work closely with Finance team based out of US.
Essential Duties
• Reconcile bank balances and resolve outstanding items
• Reconcile credit card transactions for lab customers and resolve mismatches.
• Prepare and maintain the Daily Cash Report with accurate inflow/outflow details.
• Prepare and post adjustment, accrual, and reclassification journal entries.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data by posting adjustment entries.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely resolution of open items.
• Record foreign exchange gains/losses and support monthly forex rate analysis.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities with timely and accurate reporting.
• Support basic accounting entries and documentation needs.
• Coordinate with internal teams to clarify transaction details as required.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes and maintain audit-ready records.
Competencies
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and overall R2R processes.
• Solid understanding of accounting and reconciliation processes and applicable regulatory framework.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Workday, SAP, Oracle or similar) and financial reporting tools.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling.
• Knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards, statutory and regulatory compliance preferred
• Effective communication, strong organization, documentation, and time-management skills
• Problem-solving ability to resolve billing and payment issues.
• Solid numerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial data
• Ability to work under deadlines, prioritizing multiple tasks.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in accounting and finance operation.
• Basic knowledge of reconciliations and cash processes, accounting standards and regulatory compliance
• Understanding of US GAAP and financial transactions
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Workday, SAP, Oracle or similar) and MS Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with teams across functions and locations
