YT Shorts Video Editor

Job Description

We are looking for a YouTube Shorts Video Editor specializing in AI storytelling and high-retention content.

Your role will be to edit 60–70 second AI-generated storytelling videos with tight pacing, fast clean cuts, strong subtitles, background music, and subtle sound effects optimized for maximum viewer retention.

Applicants must have proven experience with YouTube Shorts/Reels, strong English comprehension, the ability to deliver within 24–48 hours, and export in 9:16 (1080p, 60fps) format. A trial task is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit AI-generated storytelling videos optimized for maximum retention

• Add:
  Fast, clean cuts (no dead air)
  Subtitles/captions with strong timing and emphasis
  Sound effects where appropriate (subtle, not spammy)
  Background music that fits the mood and pacing
  Maintain tight pacing throughout (hook → escalation → payoff)
  Enhance storytelling using zooms, motion, visual emphasis, and rhythm
  Follow YouTube Shorts best practices (no reused/sloppy templates)
  Match a consistent style across all uploads

Requirements

Requirements:

• Proven experience editing YouTube Shorts / TikTok / Reels
• Strong understanding of viewer retention psychology
• Comfortable working with AI voice-overs and AI visuals
• Ability to follow references exactly
• Fast turnaround (24–48 hours per batch preferred)
• Must have strong English comprehension to accurately follow voice-overs, scripts, and timing. (Native-level fluency is not required, but clear understanding of spoken English is essential.)

Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)

• Experience with storytelling, narration, or documentary-style shorts
• Ability to suggest small improvements (hooks, pacing tweaks)
• A portfolio
