Description

Harvested Robotics is building tractor-mounted, AI-powered laser weeding systems designed to operate directly on Indian farms. Our robots work in harsh outdoor environments involving dust, heat, vibration, and uneven terrain.

We are looking for a Robotics Controls & Tracking Engineer who will own the end-to-end tracking and control system that aligns perception output with precise gimbal and laser actuation. This is a core engineering role responsible for ensuring accuracy, stability, and robustness in real-world field conditions.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and tune control algorithms for real-world robotic systems
  • Own the complete tracking pipeline from perception output to gimbal and laser actuation
  • Develop motion compensation techniques for tractor dynamics, speed variations, and terrain-induced vibration
  • Design and tune control loops for stability and precision
  • Handle system latency, timing, and real-time constraints across sensing, compute, and actuation
  • Collaborate with perception engineer on coordinate frames, timing, and interfaces
  • Work closely with embedded firmware engineer on actuator control and constraints
  • Perform field testing, tuning, and debugging on deployed machines
  • Analyze logs, identify failure modes, and drive improvements in system robustness

Requirements

  • Strong fundamentals in robotics and control systems
  • Hands-on experience tuning controllers on physical hardware
  • Experience with BLDC motors, servo systems, encoders, and motor drivers
  • Understanding of latency, jitter, noise, and non-linearities in control systems
  • Experience working with ROS / ROS2 and robotic software stacks
  • Ability to work closely with mechanical and electronics systems

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with gimbal systems or stabilized platforms
  • Experience with robotics on moving vehicles (UGV, agricultural, automotive, or industrial systems)
  • Vision-based tracking or visual servoing experience
  • Outdoor or field robotics experience

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work on real-world, deployed robotic systems operating on Indian farms
  • High-impact role with clear end-to-end ownership and technical responsibility
  • Fast-paced startup environment with no bureaucracy.
  • A hands-on engineering culture that values field testing and real outcomes over slides
  • Denver — our office Golden Retriever — who takes his role as Chief Happiness Officer very seriously.
