Material Management Specialist

Description and requirements

OVERVIEW: The purpose of this role is to manage operational tasks related to product availability and inventory management. Monitors inventory assortment, levels, and replenishment to ensure appropriate level of stock is maintained that will enable the organization to meet service level targets while also minimizing cost. Completes accurate reporting to provide transparency regarding stock levels. Makes recommendations when changes in business activity impact inventory levels.

➢ Order management and Tracking:

• Placement of purchase orders at source to manage optimum inventory levels at central warehouse.

• To ensure capacity utilization in a balanced way while ordering.

• Track order status, lead times, and delivery schedules to ensure on-time material availability at various marketing organizations or regional warehouses.

• Allocating and prioritizing orders based on stockout situations.

• Taking quick actions to mitigate risk arising due to various situations.

➢ Inventory Optimization:

• Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory at central warehouse and globally.

• Implement control measures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.

➢ New Product Launch:

• Good in managing new product launches with a view of long supply chain lead time.

• To ensure on time availability of new products at different regions globally as per launch waves.

• Tracking and coordinating to minimize obsolescence risk of old items during new launches

Demand and Forecast Analysis:

• Analyze historical consumption data and demand trends to support on good forecast and demand accuracy.

• Develop plans and strategies based on demand projections and production schedules to avoid stock out situation.

➢ Cost Management:

• Monitor and analyze costs related to mode of shipments for transportation.

• Minimizing obsolescence due to over ordering.

➢ Continuous Improvement:

• Identify areas for improvement within the functions.

• Propose and implement changes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall supply chain performance.

➢ Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to align strategies with overall business objectives.
