About Human Archive

Human Archive is a research lab backed by Y Combinator focused on modeling human embodied intelligence.

Humans are the most sophisticated biological systems we have ever observed, yet we still do not fully understand ourselves. Research into human physical intelligence — including the human hand, proprioception, and vision — remains largely unsolved. Our mission is to recover human embodied intelligence as a learned model. To achieve this, we build custom hardware products, deploy them globally at scale, and publish research. Today, our data is used for robotics and world modeling, but the broader opportunity is advancing scientific research into intelligence itself.

Founded by Stanford and UC Berkeley researchers, we are lean, deeply technical, and operate at extreme speed, taking on unglamorous and conventionally impossible problems that directly unlock step-function gains in model capability.

The deployment of capable humanoids at scale will permanently redefine human labor. Undesirable physical work will disappear, and human effort will shift toward a new era of abundant creativity.

The opportunity

We're hiring a full-stack software engineer to build the operational software powering Human Archive's global data collection infrastructure.

This engineer will work across mobile applications, backend infrastructure, internal tools, QA systems, deployment tooling, and real-time operational software used daily by thousands of operators globally. The products you ship will directly enable blue-collar workers around the world to earn more money wearing our devices than at their original jobs, while helping build the infrastructure for modeling human embodied intelligence.

You'll be expected to work across frontend, backend, infrastructure, mobile, internal tooling, automation, and UI/UX. This is a highly generalist software role spanning every layer of the stack, working directly with the COO and founders as the first MTS hire in India, with the opportunity to eventually lead that division in the future.

What You'll Do

• Work directly with the COO, co-founders, hardware teams, and operations teams
• Build and maintain the operational software powering Human Archive's global data collection infrastructure
• Develop internal tools, collection platforms, QA systems, deployment tooling, and operational software used daily by thousands of users globally
• Build web/mobile applications, backend systems, APIs, realtime services, and infrastructure supporting large-scale multimodal data collection
• Develop systems for synchronization, uploads, storage, monitoring, dataset observability, and quality assurance
• Build systems for workforce coordination, logistics, deployment management, and operational monitoring
• Prototype quickly, ship rapidly, and iterate directly from real-world operational feedback

What We're Looking For

• Exceptional full-stack engineer with strong technical depth and ability to move quickly across many layers of the stack
• Strong product intuition and high agency — able to deeply understand user problems and design scalable systems around real operational workflows
• Extremely execution-oriented with the ability to prototype, ship, and iterate rapidly in production environments
• Low ego, high ownership, and willingness to work closely across engineering, operations, and hardware teams
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving, high-intensity startup environments
• Interested in eventually becoming a founder in frontier technology
• Willing to relocate to Bangalore and travel internationally as needed
