Revit API Developer

The Revit API Developer will be at the forefront of automating and advancing Illumine-i's BIM workflows. You will design, develop, and deploy custom Revit plugins and automation tools that streamline design processes, enhance productivity, and improve coordination across disciplines. This role requires a mix of programming expertise, BIM understanding, and creative problem-solving — ideal for someone who loves to build intelligent solutions that make architects and engineers work smarter. You'll be developing, testing, and maintaining Revit API-based tools and plugins that automate repetitive tasks and enhance modeling efficiency. You'll be collaborating with BIM Coordinators, Architects, and Engineers to identify workflow challenges and design innovative automation solutions. You'll be writing clean, scalable, and well-documented code for Revit API applications using C# and .NET frameworks. You'll be creating custom Revit families, parameter management tools, and data extraction utilities to optimize model management. You'll be integrating Revit data with external applications and databases, improving interoperability and project coordination. You'll be setting up standards and best practices for API development within the BIM team. You'll participate in continuous improvement initiatives, researching emerging tools and technologies to enhance digital construction capabilities. You'll provide technical support and guidance to BIM users for plugin implementation and troubleshooting. You'll be involved in proof-of-concept projects that push the boundaries of automation, parametric design, and data-driven modeling.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Revit API development or similar BIM automation roles. Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Framework, with a solid understanding of Revit API and Revit SDK. Hands-on experience in developing Revit plugins, Dynamo scripts, and custom tools for design automation. Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and version control systems (e.g., Git). Good understanding of Revit data structures, families, and parameters. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a focus on delivering reliable, maintainable code. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
