Senior Software Engineer, Java Technologies

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Software Engineer - Java Technologies at Infrascale in Chennai. The role involves day-to-day tasks related to designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based software solutions to support Infrascale's mission of enabling seamless disaster recovery through cloud technology.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Develop high-quality software solutions, adhering to coding standards, best practices, and SOLID principles.
• System Design: Participate in the design and architecture discussions, providing insights and suggestions for scalable and efficient system design.
• Feature Implementation: Implement new features and functionalities, ensuring they meet the requirements and are delivered within the specified timelines.
• Troubleshooting: Investigate and troubleshoot issues reported in production environments, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
• Code Review: Conduct and participate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback to ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver comprehensive solutions.
• Documentation: Document code, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain system integrity.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and proactively suggest improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Java Technologies: Proficiency in core Java technologies such as J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and Servlets. We make significant use of JNI on Linux, so experience these technologies would be advantageous.
• Version Control: Proficiency with version control systems, preferably Git, and experience with branching strategies and pull request workflows.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
• Agile & DevOps : Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications:

Storage: Previous experience working with or implementing storage technologies like Microsoft VSCS, or similar proprietary technologies. Experience with MS Graph API and SharePoint API is a plus.

Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, SonarQube.

Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud platforms such as especially Google Cloud Platform and Azure, and experience architecting for and deploying applications on these platforms is desirable.
