iTeach Schools
Description
Why do we exist? What do we do?The quality of school education available to students from low-income communities across India is abysmal. Their chances of attending college, or building a career are significantly lower than their high-income peers, condemning them to a life without voice or choice. iTeach was born in 2015 to challenge this status quo and create a level playing field for ALL children. We run free and high-impact schools and an exceptional college-to-career program for the most disadvantaged students in Pune and Navi Mumbai. We are known for our world-class professional development, our result-oriented team culture, and our student-centric school design. A teacher at iTeach Schools wears multiple hats to ensure an excellent education for their students. The three different parts of the role are:
Teaching your subject (60% time) ● Teach one or two subjects of your expertise to your class. ● Conduct regular tests and assessments to monitor learning and give feedback to students. ● Build a positive and strong school culture with a focus on learning and joy. ● Collaborate with parents of the students through regular meetings to ensure their active involvement.
Mentoring students (20% time) ● Mentor nearly 15-20 students throughout the year. ● Develop ways to ensure that these students have strong study habits, high attendance, and the drive to excel -share these plans with all teachers across the ecosystem.
Help with school projects (20% time) ● Collaborate with Senior Teachers to implement school projects such as Hobby Clubs, Career Awareness, Annual Day, Sports Day, etc. ● Use these opportunities to strengthen your leadership skills and mentor new teachers.
