Assistant Manager (IN)

Job Description/Role

1. Ensure Safety & Compliance – Promote safe work practices, conduct daily briefings, enforce PPE use, and never ignore unsafe acts.
2. Training & Competence – Confirm team members are inducted, trained, and competent for all tasks and emergency procedures.
3. Hazard & Incident Management – Identify and control risks, report all incidents and near misses promptly, and escalate safety issues.
4. Quality Assurance – Maintain standards, achieve Right First Time (RFT), challenge non-conformance, and support problem-solving.
5. Delivery Performance – Meet production schedules, monitor progress, communicate changes, and ensure effective shift handovers.
6. Cost Control – Operate within budget, monitor labour, scrap, and consumables, and escalate cost-related issues.
7. People Leadership – Organize resources, coach team members, hold regular briefings, and manage training needs and competency gaps.
8. Communication – Ensure timely, relevant communication within the team and with supporting functions; maintain accurate training matrix.
9. Continuous Improvement – Champion lean principles, drive improvement initiatives, manage problem boards, and support JCB Production System.
