Position Overview We are seeking an experienced HCL Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist/Administrator to manage, optimize, and govern software assets across the enterprise using HCL SAM solutions. The role involves license compliance, contract management, software lifecycle optimization, and cost reduction initiatives while ensuring adherence to vendor and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities Software Asset Management • Administer and maintain HCL SAM platform and its modules. • Track, monitor, and manage software licenses, entitlements, and usage across the organization. • Ensure compliance with vendor licensing agreements and regulatory requirements. • Support software audits and prepare compliance documentation.

Optimization Cost Management • Analyze license utilization to identify optimization and cost-saving opportunities. • Recommend strategies for license pooling, harvesting, and reallocation. • Provide insights into software spend and vendor contract management. Integration Reporting • Integrate HCL SAM with discovery tools (BigFix, HCL UnO, SCCM, ServiceNow, etc.). • Generate dashboards and compliance reports for stakeholders and auditors. • Support IT, Finance, and Procurement teams with software asset data for planning.

Governance Compliance • Define and implement SAM policies, processes, and standards. • Conduct periodic internal audits and ensure process adherence. • Maintain documentation for audits, vendor negotiations, and regulatory compliance.

Collaboration • Work with IT, Procurement, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure license compliance. • Support vendor negotiations and contract renewals with accurate license data. • Assist end-users with software requests and entitlement clarifications.

Required Skills Experience • Hands-on experience with HCL SAM or other enterprise SAM tools (Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM Pro). • Strong understanding of software licensing models (Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, SAP, Adobe, etc.). • Experience with IT asset management processes and frameworks (ITIL, ISO 19770). • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and dashboards (Excel, Power BI, SQL). • Knowledge of IT discovery and inventory tools integration with SAM solutions. • Experience with vendor audits, negotiations, and compliance reporting.

Preferred Qualifications • Certification in SAM (e.g., IAITAM CSAM, ITIL, or equivalent). • Experience integrating HCL SAM with HCL BigFix and UnO for discovery and automation. • Knowledge of cloud licensing models (AWS, Azure, SaaS). • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
