Description
As a lead Engineer of our FEA team, you will play a critical role in the development of our world class electric vehicle. This role will be responsible for analysing the vehicle component designs and optimizing it to achieve revolutionary vehicle designs. You will be an innovative and skilled problem solver using all analytical tools available to you. Where these tools are insufficient or do not exist, you will develop novel methodologies to enable fast and accurate solutions. You will be brilliant both technically as an individual, and as an active member in a diverse and challenging cross-functional team environment.
The role is to basically:
- Build state-of-the-art finite element (FE) models
- Perform meshing and finite element attribute assessments for durability
- Perform analysis on chassis and full vehicle models as components, subsystems and full vehicles, including bare frames, trimmed frames, chassis components, and full vehicle models to determine performance against targets
- Perform analyses for feasibility of manufacturing, assembly and service processes
- Provide input in the creation of design specification, DFMEA, and other technical design documents where analysis plays a pivotal role. Run respective solvers to conduct durability analyses including contact problems
- Build, troubleshoot and debug solver issues
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback for improving structural performance
- Write test plans for finite element modeling, data collection process, model calibration and correlation studies by using various analytical methods and engineering tools
- Make reports summarizing the analysis results and review all project-related analysis results for ensuring the accuracy of project reports
Requirements
- Bachelor in Mechanical engineering discipline with 3+ years of experience
- Detailed and applied knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics, Material Science and Numerical Methods in a product development environment
- Detailed and applied software experience in FEA pre-processors, solvers and post- processors in a product development environment. ANSYS, LS-DYNA and HyperWorks preferred
- 3+ years of experience in the FEA domain
- Knowledge of optimization tools and techniques
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with teams on problems that are challenging to solve and requiring innovative solutions
- Demonstrated ability in iterative and collaborative engineering environments – success in roles requiring high levels of technical communication and interpretation of analytical results to design engineers and technical leadership
- Strong preference (but not required) for experience in 3D CAD modeling - Solidworks / CREO/ Catia V5
- Demonstrated ability to deliver analysis on challenging projects with extremely tight timing constraints
Benefits
- Competitive salaries and stock options
- Chance to be a part of highly passionate and skilful team founding team
- Highly intellectual environment, we love coders, innovators and passionate team members
- Great location: short walking distance to nearest bus stop, main roads, malls
