Roles and Responsibilities Prepare patients for stress tests electrocardiogram (EKG), tests and other tests of the heart. Maintain and operate necessary test equipment to ensure patients receive best care possible. Record patient's medical history for accuracy. Assist doctors during both invasive and non-invasive procedures. Communicate the results to patients in a way that they will understand. Record, type and dispense reports of diagnostic procedures so the physician can interpret. Set performance standards for subordinates to ensure high quality of care. Provide personal care and emotional support to patients, their families and coworkers as needed. Receive, observe and obtain necessary information from any relevant sources. Maintain and protect the safety, confidentiality and dignity of patients and families.(Do not disclose report of patients to anyone other than patients themselves or their relatives)
