Metayb endeavours to be best–in–class across\ndigital solutions, infrastructure, and product engineering.\n\n# Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to\ndesign, develop, maintain, and support business intelligence\nand analytics solutions that enable data–driven decision–making\nacross the organisation.The role will involve owning the\ncomplete Power BI delivery lifecycle, including\nrequirements gathering, data preparation, data modelling,\nDAX development, dashboard design, deployment, performance\noptimisation, security, and production support.The ideal\ncandidate should have strong hands–on expertise in Power\nBI, DAX, Power Query, SQL, data modelling, and Power BI\nService, along with the ability to work closely with data\nengineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate\nbusiness requirements into accurate, high–performing, and\nuser–friendly analytics solutions.Exposure to Microsoft\nFabric will be a strong advantage as the organisation\nprogressively moves towards the Fabric ecosystem.\n\n# Key Responsibilities

🔹 Power BI Report & Dashboard Development

• Design, develop, publish, and maintain interactive Power\nBI reports and dashboards based on defined business\nrequirements.\n- Create intuitive and user–friendly dashboards aligned with\nageed UX standards, reporting requirements, and\nperformance targets.\n- Implement advanced Power BI features including bookmarks,\ndrill–throughs, tooltips, field parameters, custom themes,\nand responsive layouts.\n- Ensure dashboards provide accurate, actionable, and\nbusiness–relevant insights.\n ###🔹 Data Modelling & Semantic Layer
• Build robust star–schema–based semantic models using\nappropriate fact and dimension structures.\n- Define relationships, hierarchies, cardinality, and\nrole–playing dimensions within Power BI models.\n- Select appropriate storage modes including Import,\nDirectQuery, Composite, and Direct Lake based on business\nand technical requirements.\n- Optimise model size, relationships, filtering behaviour,\nand overall model performance.\n- Apply dimensional modelling and data warehousing concepts,\nincluding slowly changing dimensions and ETL/ELT principles.\n ###🔹 DAX Development & Analytics
• Develop and optimise advanced DAX measures, calculated\ncolumns, and calculation groups.\n- Implement complex analytical requirements including:\n - Time intelligence\n - YoY, MTD, and YTD analysis\n - Running totals\n - Ranking\n - What–if analysis\n- Demonstrate strong understanding of filter context, row\ncontext, CALCULATE, iterators, variables, and calculation\ngroups.\n- Optimise DAX expressions to improve report responsiveness\nand model performance.\n ###🔹 Data Preparation & Integration
• Build and maintain Power Query / M transformations for\ndata preparation and cleansing.\n- Develop complex transformations, merges, appends, custom\nfunctions, parameterised queries, and query–folding\nsolutions.\n- Implement incremental refresh policies and dataflows where\nrequired.\n- Integrate data from multiple enterprise and cloud sources,\nincluding:\n - SQL Server / Azure SQL\n - Excel\n - SharePoint\n - APIs\n - SAP\n - Oracle\n - Cloud data platforms

###🔹 Performance Optimisation

• Analyse and resolve performance issues affecting Power BI\nreports, semantic models, and data refreshes.\n- Use tools and techniques such as Power BI Performance\nAnalyzer, DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, VertiPaq Analyzer, and\nquery folding to identify performance bottlenecks.\n- Optimise data models, DAX calculations, queries, refresh\nprocesses, and report designs to improve overall\nperformance.\n- Troubleshoot slow–running reports and refresh failures and\nidentify root causes.\n ###🔹 Governance, Security & Deployment
• Implement and test Row–Level Security (RLS) and, where\nrequired, Object–Level Security.\n- Manage Power BI workspace roles, applications, permissions,\nsensitivity labels, and deployment pipelines.\n- Support Power BI deployment across development, testing,\nand production environments.\n- Configure and manage on–premises data gateways, scheduled\nrefreshes, and dataset lifecycle activities.\n- Ensure appropriate governance and security practices are\nfollowed across Power BI solutions.\n ###🔹 Business Stakeholder Management & Support
• Work closely with business users and stakeholders to\nunderstand reporting requirements and translate them into\nclear technical specifications.\n- Define KPIs, reporting logic, wireframes, and dashboard\nrequirements in collaboration with stakeholders.\n- Conduct UAT and validate dashboards against business\nexpectations.\n- Provide production support and troubleshoot data quality\nissues, refresh failures, and reporting discrepancies.\n- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other\ntechnical teams to deliver reliable analytics solutions.

• 3+\n\t of hands-\ndon experience in developing and delivering production-\ngrade \nPower BI solutions end to end.\n- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information\nTechnology, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.\n- Strong experience in Business Intelligence, Data\nVisualization, Reporting, and Analytics.\n- Demonstrable experience delivering Power BI dashboards\nand solutions used by business stakeholders.\n- Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI\nService.\n- Strong hands-\ndon experience with DAX, Power Query / M, SQL, and\ndata modelling.\n- Experience working with enterprise data sources and\nmultiple data platforms.\n- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing,\nand dimensional modelling.\n- Experience with Power BI security, workspaces,\ndeployment pipelines, gateways, and scheduled refreshes.\n- Strong analytical, problem-\nsolving, communication, and stakeholder management\nskills.
