Revit Fire Services Draftsperson (Remote)

Reporting To: Senior Fire Protection Engineer / BIM Manager (Australia)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Revit Fire Services Draftsperson to join our growing engineering team supporting Australian fire protection projects. This is a fully remote role where you will work closely with Australian engineers, project managers, and BIM coordinators to produce high-quality BIM models, shop drawings, and coordinated documentation for commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and residential developments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Wet & Dry Fire Protection Systems, Autodesk Revit, and BIM coordination, with an understanding of Australian drafting standards and collaborative remote working environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate 3D BIM models and detailed shop drawings for Wet & Dry Fire Protection Systems using Autodesk Revit.
- Produce coordinated drawings for sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps, clean agent systems, water storage tanks, pipework, supports, and associated fire protection equipment.
- Prepare installation, fabrication, and coordination drawings in accordance with Australian project standards and BIM requirements.
- Create, modify, and maintain Revit Families for fire protection components and equipment.
- Coordinate with Fire Protection Engineers, Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Structural, and Architectural disciplines to ensure clash-free models.
- Perform clash detection using Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), or BIM 360, and resolve coordination issues.
- Review consultant drawings, architectural layouts, reflected ceiling plans, and services documentation to ensure design accuracy.
- Update and maintain BIM models throughout all project phases, ensuring revisions are accurately incorporated.
- Participate in virtual coordination meetings with Australian project teams.
- Ensure drawings comply with project BIM standards, client requirements, and Australian fire protection documentation practices.
- Maintain document control, drawing registers, and revision history throughout the project lifecycle.
- Deliver projects within agreed timelines while maintaining high quality and drafting accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, BIM, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Revit drafting for Fire Protection or Building Services projects.
- Experience working on Australian fire protection projects is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working remotely with international engineering teams is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP).
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience creating and managing Revit Families.
- Experience using Revizto, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), or BIM 360.
- Understanding of BIM workflows, Levels of Development (LOD), and multidisciplinary model coordination.
- Familiarity with Australian drafting practices and fire protection documentation.
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards (AS) relating to fire protection systems is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and cloud-based collaboration platforms.
