  • Hone your employment tribunal expertise as you take on this varied and dynamic role
  • You'll be accountable for the HR Policy & Advice technical coach team as you manage employment tribunal claims
  • This is an opportunity to create a customer driven, commercial environment which encourages innovation

What you'll do

You'll be responsible for the overall management of employment tribunal claims received by the bank. You'll be managing the approach to complex cases and employment tribunals, reviewing information to highlight trends, issues and opportunities and applying this to policy and process.

You'll also be making sure that Policy & Advice services provide advice and support in line with our policies and practices, employment legislation and internal and external governance procedures, through setting technical standards that minimise business and reputational risk, whilst meeting the commercial needs of the bank.

You'll also be:

  • Contributing to and driving effective leadership of Policy & Advice services to ensure strong business and commercial performance
  • Leading and managing a team to ensure consistency of advice and provide quality assurance in the approaches taken in the advisory and case teams
  • Contributing to the broader HR shared services programmes and initiatives
  • Leading or contributing to project activity in the shared services and HR to enhance the service and reputation of Policy & Advice
  • Challenging working practices and implementing processes to improve productivity, efficiency and drive customer excellence

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll have significant practical HR and employment law knowledge and application along with an understanding of HR and business strategy and objectives. You'll also have the capability to deliver through other people and continually push boundaries of service and effective ways of working.

You'll also demonstrate:

  • Extensive knowledge of the organisation's businesses and the range of cultures and roles and potential related issues
  • The ability to manage and drive teams
  • Value delivery, diagnostic and advisory skills
  • Excellent analysis of risk

Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to tailor communication depending on the audience
