About the Role

Hirvix is looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to design, develop, and optimize the core backend services that power our platform. You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to build high-performance and scalable systems. Our primary stack includes Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into technical solutions.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Document systems and share technical knowledge across the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 2 years of backend development experience using Python.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English (additional European languages are a plus).

Nice to Have

• Experience with asynchronous programming and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Understanding of backend security best practices.
• Knowledge of GraphQL.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
