Job Title: Junior Staff Nurse

Job Purpose
- Assess patient health conditions and needs
- Develop and implement nursing care plans
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients (ill, injured, recovering, or disabled)
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
Key Responsibilities
1. General Responsibilities
- Adhere to organizational policies and administrative regulations
- Follow all patient care, infection control, and safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards
2. Patient Care Delivery
- Demonstrate clinical competence in all aspects of patient care
- Assess, reassess, and manage patient pain effectively
- Administer medications as per protocol
- Explain care plans to patients and families
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure proper handovers
- Educate patients and caregivers
- Ensure implementation of the prescribed care plan
- Involve patients and families in care decisions
- Use and maintain medical equipment properly
3. Quality & Patient Safety
- Follow international patient safety goals
- Monitor and improve quality of care through performance indicators
- Report incidents, near misses, and sentinel events
- Identify and escalate life-threatening situations promptly
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Comply with all quality and safety standards
4. Clinical & Functional Responsibilities
- Perform blood sample collection and follow reporting protocols
- Monitor and report abnormal or critical lab values (panic values)
- Follow infection control and biomedical waste management practices
- Prepare and document nursing care plans
Procedures & Skills
- Administer IV, IM, ID, and SC injections
- Perform nebulization, steam inhalation, and patient restraint (as per policy)
- Assist in tracheostomy care and suctioning
- Handle central venous and peripheral lines
- Provide urinary catheter care
- Perform antiseptic preparation (betadine/chlorhexidine scrub)
- Manage blood/body fluid spills and HAZMAT situations
Diagnostic & Monitoring Skills
- Process samples for ABG, VBG, GRBS, Cardiac markers, ACT, PT-INR (POCT devices)
- Perform Allen's test and arterial blood sampling
- Monitor and document critical values and escalate appropriately
Emergency & Equipment Handling
- Operate a defibrillator
- Position patients appropriately
- Explain discharge criteria and processes
5. Training & Development
- Participate in training programs such as:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS / NALS (if applicable)
- CNEs and clinical conferences
Candidate Requirements
Education
- Diploma (GNM) or Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc. Nursing)
Registration
- Valid registration with State Nursing Council
Experience
- Freshers or candidates with 0–2 years of experience

- Strong knowledge of nursing principles and procedures
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and patient-centric approach
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proactive, punctual, and detail-oriented
