Programme Overview

Peepul has partnered with the Government of Madhya Pradesh and contributes to the educational landscape through various initiatives. At present, it engages in 3 programs here:

• Sandipani Vidyalaya****Teacher Professional Development programme: This international award-winning programme looks to strengthen the training, coaching and performance management of the ~300,000 teachers across the state.
• Sandipani Vidyalaya****Schools:  This breakthrough programme looks to build ~10,000 'world-class' public schools in the state, that enable excellence. In the first phase, there are 300 K-12 schools selected. Peepul is co-leading the Academic Support and Monitoring Unit.

Beyond this, we have been involved with Mission Education in the Alirajpur District of MP (Ministry of Education-led initiative for strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) and World Bank-supported projects in the state. Furthermore, we are expanding our partnership with Amazon India under the "Amazon Future Engineers" umbrella. This collaboration focuses on strengthening Computer Science education in Sandipani Vidyalaya Schools in Madhya Pradesh. With a successful engagement in our Exemplar schools and now the scaling up of the partnership in Delhi, we have a solid foundation to enable this opportunity further.

About the role

The (Sr.) Project Associate - Training plays an important role in ensuring the success of Peepul's ongoing partnership with the Government of Madhya Pradesh, aimed at achieving quality education for all and supporting the enhancement of the public school system in India. Specifically, the (Sr.) Project Associate will be primarily responsible for the effective design and implementation of teacher training and capacity-building programs related to computer science curriculum integration within the state's academic framework, with a focus on Sandipani Vidyalaya and other state priorities.

Responsibilities would include (including but not limited to):

• Establish productive working relationships with state-level subject matter experts from the School Education Department and partner organisations.

• Work closely with Sandipani Vidyalaya Schools to ensure the successful implementation of the computer science curriculum, providing regular support and guidance to teachers and school leaders to effectively integrate the curriculum.

• Collaborate with the education department and partners to design a teacher training program tailored to the computer science curriculum.

• Design or assist in designing engaging and interactive short courses that enhance the learning experience of both students and teachers in computer science.

• Conduct training sessions on various computer science topics, such as MS. Office, Scratch Jr, Scratch, and other relevant subjects, targeting teachers and students.

• Assist in developing mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the impact of the training programs, ensuring that the desired outcomes are achieved effectively.

• Undertake any additional tasks necessary to successfully implement the program.

Qualifications and Role Requirements:

• Educational Background: A relevant educational background in Education, Computer Science, or related disciplines is highly preferred.

• Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience. Candidates with 4 years of experience in designing and delivering effective teacher training programs, preferably in the field of computer science education.

• Other Skills: Proficient in designing engaging computer science curricula for students and skilled in developing effective teacher training sessions.

• Language Proficiency: English and Hindi
