HR Generalist (People & Ops)

PlanMyPlot is an online architectural design company helping homeowners across India turn a plot into a dream home — 2D floor plans, elevations, structural design, and working drawings, delivered entirely remotely, backed by AI-driven client engagement and a fast, transparent process. About the role

As our first dedicated People & Ops hire, you'll build the human infrastructure of a fully remote, fast-growing company from close to the ground up. This isn't a role where you inherit a mature HR machine — you'll be shaping our hiring process, onboarding experience, compliance rigor, and culture as we scale from a handful of people to a real team. If you enjoy ownership, variety, and building things rather than just maintaining them, this role gives you real scope.

What you'll do day to day

• Own end-to-end recruiting: writing and posting job ads, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and managing offers through Zoho Recruit
• Design and run onboarding so every new remote hire feels set up for success from day one
• Coordinate monthly payroll processing and ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, and current labour code requirements) alongside our CA
• Manage attendance, leave tracking, and the performance review cycle in Zoho People
• Build and continuously improve HR policies tailored to a remote, flexible-hours, KPI-driven team
• Handle employee queries, grievances, and any sensitive people situations with care and discretion
• Support offboarding professionally and in compliance with policy
• Track employee KPI and follow up for best productivity of all team

Requirements

What you need (must-have)

• Bachelor's degree (HR specialization preferred but not mandatory)
• 2+ years of HR generalist experience, ideally in a startup or remote-first company
• Working knowledge of Indian labour law basics (PF, ESI, gratuity, current labour codes)
• Strong organizational skills and the discretion to handle confidential matters professionally

Nice to have

• Experience setting up HR processes from scratch (not just running an existing system)
• Familiarity with Zoho People, Zoho Recruit, or similar HRMS tools
• Experience hiring for both sales and creative/technical roles

• CTC: ₹18,000–22,000/month (₹2.16L–2.64L/year), based on experience
