Distress Assets Sale National Manager for PNBHFL
Objective
The National Manager – Distress Assets Sale will spearhead the identification, valuation, and sale of non-performing assets (NPAs) and distressed assets across the company's portfolio. The role requires developing strategies for effective recovery through sale processes, managing relationships with asset buyers, legal advisors, and internal teams to optimize recoveries and minimize losses.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute comprehensive strategies for the sale of distressed and non-performing assets (NPAs) to maximize recovery value.
- Identify suitable asset sale channels, including asset reconstruction companies (ARCs), private equity buyers, banks, and other investors.
- Collaborate with internal credit and legal teams to evaluate asset viability and recovery options.
- Coordinate detailed asset due diligence and valuation in collaboration with external valuers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain an updated pipeline of distressed assets suitable for sale or resolution.
- Lead end-to-end asset sale transactions including structuring, bidding, negotiation, and closure.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines (RBI, NHB) related to asset sales.
- Manage preparation of sale documents, information memorandums, and facilitate buyer queries.
- Liaise with internal teams (credit, legal, risk, finance) and external parties (buyers, legal counsel, valuers, regulators).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ARCs, asset buyers, and recovery agents.
- Track asset sale progress, revenues realized, and outstanding portfolio.
- Prepare periodic reports and presentations for senior management and Board-level committees.
- Monitor market trends and regulatory changes impacting distressed asset sales.
- Ensure all asset sales adhere to legal, regulatory, and internal policy frameworks.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to asset sale processes and documentation.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, Law, or Business Administration
- Certifications in Credit Management, Asset Recovery, or related fields preferred
- Strong expertise in NPA management, recovery mechanisms, and asset sale strategies
- Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing distressed assets (SARFAESI, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, etc.)
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical and commercial acumen with a focus on maximizing recovery
- Proficient in financial analysis, valuation, and due diligence processes
