Job Description & Summary : We are seeking a hands-on Windchill Consultant to configure assessed OOTB Windchill PDMLink capabilities and India-specific settings across DEV, QA, and PROD environments. The role involves building, testing, and deploying Windchill configuration, supporting promotion and defect resolution through testing and go-live, and collaborating with analysts, technical leads, migration, and infrastructure teams to deliver stable, well-documented configurations aligned with the approved functional design. Job Position Title : IN_ Associate_ Windchill Consultant_ Digital Engineering Transformation _ Advisory _Pune Responsibilities : Review Windchill configuration and identify gaps versus the approved functional design. Configure containers, contexts, organizations, products, and libraries as per agreed design. Configure soft types, attributes, constraints, enumerations, and object initialization rules (OIRs). Configure lifecycle templates, workflow templates, teams, roles, and access control policies. Implement OOTB preferences and India-specific configurations. Support DEV, QA, and PROD configuration and environment consistency. Create deployment packages and support configuration promotion between environments. Execute unit and smoke tests and record test evidence. Diagnose workflow, configuration, queue, and access issues using logs and diagnostics. Support SIT/UAT defect resolution, promotion, and go-live activities. Maintain configuration workbook and technical runbook. Mandatory skill sets : Strong hands-on experience in Windchill PDMLink administration and configuration. Expertise in Type and Attribute Manager (soft types, global/local attributes, constraints, enumerations, layouts, calculated attributes). Experience configuring OIRs, numbering/versioning schemes, and preferences. Hands-on with lifecycle templates and workflow templates (robots, expressions, promotion processes). Strong knowledge of teams, roles, domains, policy administration, and ACLs. Experience administering contexts, organizations, products, libraries, folders, and participants. Experience diagnosing issues using background queues, method server logs, and monitoring utilities. Experience with configuration promotion and migration (Import/Export, LoadFromFile, PTC Configuration Migration tools). Working knowledge of Windchill architecture (method servers, Apache/Tomcat, vaults/file servers, Solr/indexing, database). Working knowledge of Java/J2EE, XML, SQL, and REST services. Experience executing unit/smoke tests and preparing deployment packages/technical runbooks. Preferred skill sets : Experience with Windchill 12.x / 13.x or Windchill+ (SaaS). Exposure to Creo integration and Windchill Workgroup Manager configuration. Experience with Windchill customization, Info*Engine, listeners, or custom workflow code. Familiarity with Windchill installation, patching, and PTC Solution Installer (PSI). Exposure to performance tuning, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Ant), and automation. PTC Windchill administration certification. Years of experience required : 3+ years of hands-on experience in Windchill configuration and administration. Education qualification : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline. Master's degree in Engineering or Technology preferred. PTC Windchill administration or business administrator certification is a plus
