Description
The Speech Therapist will work with students experiencing speech, language, and communication challenges, helping them overcome barriers to learning and social interaction. The role involves assessment, intervention, and collaboration with educators, parents, and other specialists to support students' communication skills and academic success.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities through observation, testing, and consultations.Develop individualized therapy plans to address speech articulation, language development, voice, fluency, and social communication challenges.Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to improve communication and enhance classroom participation.Work with teachers to implement classroom strategies that promote language development and communication skills.Train school staff and parents on techniques to support students' communication goals in various environments.Document and monitor student progress, updating therapy plans as needed.Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to provide insights and set communication-related goals.Offer support and guidance for students with speech delays, language disorders, stuttering, and other communication challenges.Stay informed about current research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited institution. Valid professional license or eligibility to obtain a license in Abu Dhabi (DOH/HAAD). Experience working with children, preferably in a school or educational setting. Knowledge of various speech and language disorders, including autism, developmental delays, and learning disabilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and school staff.
