You will be part of a team of mechanical engineers and design technicians in the casing and rotor design team in Large Gas Turbine compressor department. The purpose of this team is to support the development of new rotor, casing, blades and vanes components, plain bearings, machine support during the design and development phases, and to evaluate manufacturing deviations and field support of existing hardware.

An important aspect of the position is to help shape the implementation and industrialization of new designs and technologies in the manufacturing environment in cooperation with internal and external manufacturing and procurement organizations and to provide the corresponding product definition (3D models, drawings, bills of materials). This position is a central technical interface in the development, worldwide procurement and production of gas turbine compressor components (rotor, casing, blades and vanes etc) and plain bearings for power plant gas turbines.

Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:

• Design and development of gas turbine compressor components and bearings

• Design, revision and product definition as well as the "Design for Manufacturing" and the design philosophies in the international team and continuous component and process improvements

• Implementation and support of component qualification and component production with external and internal partners for prototypes and in the context of ongoing production as well as for the strategic optimization of global supplier selection

• Supporting the resolution of procurement and manufacturing problems, as well as quality and cost improvements

We don't need superheroes, just super minds:

• Successfully completed master's or bachelor's degree in mechanical / aerospace engineering, design technology, production technology or comparable course of study

• Professional experience in the field of design, preferably of rotor / casing / blades and vanes components or plain bearings; in particular the corresponding materials and production technology

• Experience in the areas of project planning and work in an international team, intercultural experience

• Confident handling of MS Office and 3D design program NX (PMI experience desirable); SAP and Teamcenter knowledge desirable

• Willingness to travel within India or internationally to support supplier and component qualification maximum up to 30% of your time.
