We are looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer – Safety-Critical Systems (SIL4) | Kavach Wayside
You'll make a difference by:
·Primary Languages: C++ (SIL4/safety-critical harnesses where applicable) + Python (support tooling where needed)
·Component Focus (you may work across): Kavach Wayside Application (SIL4), RIU behavior & integration, Radio interface behavior
·Role Summary
·You will own requirements-based verification of safety-critical station-side behaviors, producing deterministic, repeatable, and audit-ready test evidence aligned with SIL4 expectations.
·You'll make an impact by
·Derive tests from SRS/SDS and type test scope, including positive/negative, boundary, and state-based scenarios
·Implement executable test procedures/harnesses (C++ where applicable) and ensure peer-reviewed completeness
·Execute system and requirement tests; capture logs/traces and create evidence bundles linked to test cases
·Analyze failures, distinguish product vs test issues, and support defect triage with clear impact statements
·Maintain traceability from requirements → test cases → execution records → evidence
·Your success is grounded in
·Strong system testing fundamentals for complex, safety/mission-critical products
·Proficiency in C++ for test harnesses/simulators, deterministic test execution, and low-level debugging
·Linux proficiency (processes, logs, networking basics) and log/trace analysis
·Discipline in documentation, reviews, and evidence-based reporting
·You'll benefit from
·Strong understanding of EN 50716 / SIL4 verification practices and documentation discipline
·Experience with requirements & test management tools (e.g., Polarion/DOORS or similar)
·Domain exposure to railway signalling/train protection or comparable regulated domains
·Education
·Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science (or equivalent)

·Evidence-driven mindset suitable for safety-critical and audit-ready environments
·Strong problem solving with structured debugging and clear written communication
·Collaboration across development, lab/simulator owners, and configuration/test management stakeholders
