Our mobile engineering team builds SDKs and mobile applications used by banks, fintechs, enterprises, and integration partners globally. These SDKs sit at the intersection of computer vision, AI, identity verification, regulatory compliance, and secure mobile engineering.

Role Overview

We are looking for an Android Developer to build and maintain high-quality mobile applications and reusable SDK components used by banks, fintechs, and enterprises globally.

This is not a typical app development role. The engineer will work on reusable SDKs consumed by multiple integration partners and will solve problems across real-time document capture, face recognition, liveness detection, secure data handling, device compatibility, and mobile performance.

The role requires strong Android fundamentals, production-grade Kotlin/Java experience, and the ability to design SDKs that work reliably across different devices, network conditions, lighting environments, app ecosystems, and client integrations.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain native Android SDKs and mobile components used by external partners and enterprise clients.

Design reusable, modular, and well-documented Android libraries that can be integrated into multiple client apps.

Work on identity verification workflows such as document capture, face capture, liveness checks, video capture, OCR-assisted capture, and secure onboarding flows.

Handle device-level and real-world constraints such as poor lighting, low-end devices, unstable networks, app lifecycle interruptions, camera permissions, background/foreground transitions, and memory limitations.

Integrate and optimize camera, video, image processing, biometric, and AI/ML-based modules where required.

Build secure mobile flows with encryption, secure storage, certificate pinning, obfuscation, token handling, and protection against tampering or misuse.

Collaborate with backend, AI/ML, product, QA, DevOps, and customer-facing teams to deliver SDK capabilities end-to-end.

Improve SDK stability, crash-free sessions, performance, app size, startup time, and integration reliability.

Create sample apps, integration guides, API documentation, and developer-facing examples for customers and internal teams.

Debug production issues raised by clients and identify whether the issue is in SDK implementation, client integration, device behavior, OS version, network, or backend dependency.

Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, release planning, CI/CD pipelines, SDK versioning, and backward compatibility strategy.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience in native Android development using Kotlin and Java.

Strong understanding of Android SDK, app lifecycle, activities, fragments, services, broadcast receivers, permissions, background processing, and storage.

Experience with MVVM / MVI / Clean Architecture, modular architecture, repository pattern, dependency injection, and scalable code organization.

Experience with Jetpack components such as ViewModel, LiveData, Flow, Room, WorkManager, Navigation, DataStore, Paging, and Lifecycle.

Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or modern Android UI development.

Strong knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, threading, memory management, and performance optimization.

Experience with REST APIs, Retrofit/OkHttp, WebSocket, real-time communication, and offline-first handling.

Experience debugging production issues using Crashlytics, Android Profiler, LeakCanary, logs, ANR traces, memory analysis, and performance tools.

Good understanding of Gradle, build variants, ProGuard/R8, dependency management, CI/CD, and release management.

Experience writing unit tests and UI tests using JUnit, Mockito/MockK, Espresso, Compose testing, or similar tools.

Strongly Preferred Skills

Experience building reusable Android SDKs, AARs, libraries, or platform components consumed by other apps or external developers.

Experience creating sample apps, SDK documentation, integration guides, and developer-facing APIs.

Experience with camera workflows, CameraX/Camera2, image capture, video capture, frame processing, document scanning, OCR, face detection, or liveness flows.

Experience with on-device AI/ML, ML Kit, TensorFlow Lite, OpenCV, OCR, face detection, or image quality checks.

Experience with mobile security, including certificate pinning, encryption, secure storage, biometric authentication, device checks, obfuscation, root/jailbreak detection, and tamper resistance.

Experience with SDK versioning, backward compatibility, client integration debugging, and multi-app support.

Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, Compose Multiplatform, Flutter/React Native plugin bridges, or SDK wrappers is a plus.

Experience working on apps or SDKs for BFSI, fintech, identity verification, KYC, payments, lending, or compliance-heavy products is highly preferred.
