The role
SAP TM Consultant – Upgrade Validation & S/4 Embedded Transition
Overview
• We are looking for an experienced SAP Transportation Management (TM) Consultant to support a critical logistics transformation programme.
• The role will focus on:
- Supporting the migration to Embedded TM within S/4HANA
• This is a hands-on functional role with a strong emphasis on assurance, validation, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end validation of TM 9.6 following upgrade
- Identify and resolve functional defects, regressions, and gaps
- Validate core TM processes:
- Freight Unit building
- Planning & optimisation (VSR)
- Freight Order execution
- Freight settlement
- Assess readiness for Embedded TM in S/4
- Support design and transition from standalone to Embedded TM
- Assist with data migration, configuration alignment, and integration changes
- Support SIT, UAT, training
- and cutover activities
What we need to see from you
Required Experience
- Strong experience with SAP TM (essential)
- Proven track record in:
- TM upgrade validation (e.g. 9.3 → 9.6)
- Embedded TM in S/4HANA
- Deep functional knowledge of:
- Planning & optimisation (VSR)
- Freight execution and settlement
- Experience with integration to:
- ECC / S/4 (SD, MM) & MES systems
- EWM (desirable)
Key Skills
- Strong functional troubleshooting and validation mindset
- Ability to work across business and technical teams
- Experience in brownfield S/4 programmes
- Clear communication and stakeholder management
