User Interface Architect

The primary responsibilities of this position will include,but will not be limited to:

• Helping with laying down requirements for newfeatures and "stories"
• Understanding wire-frames and user-experiencedesign and transforming them into functional requirements
• Developing applications based on the designsthat fulfill the documented requirements and meet other goals such asuser-experience, aesthetics, performance, reliability and scalability.
• Ensuring that the User Interface is conformantto the standard look-and-feel described by the User Experience Architects(currently based in Austin).
• Working with other engineers in an Agiledevelopment process.
• Working with a QA team to ensure the finalproduct is as good as it can be.

Basic skill-set expected to be useful for this positionincludes:

• Developing user interfaces for a Python-basedapplication/web-server. This will involve both template design (Cheetah) andDjango.
• Good working knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript/Ajaxand the latest UI scripting tools.
• Experience in cross-browser compatibilityexercises (primarily IE7+ and Firefox3+).
• Developing applications feeding the userinterface using Python and among other things SQL.
• Well-versed in algorithms and data structuresbecause these will eventually improve the reliability and performance of theapplications you develop.
