Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepares metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, abrasive blasting (sandblasting) and pre-treating to remove contaminants and ensure adhesion.
• Operates electrostatic spray guns, powder booths, curing ovens, and related equipment to apply uniform powder coatings or liquid paints, monitoring thickness, flow, and cure times.
• Inspects finished parts for defects, colour accuracy, and compliance with customer specs or ISO standards, performing touch-ups and troubleshooting issues like orange peel or adhesion failure.

Powder Coating Application

• Electrostatic Spray: Using an electrostatic gun to apply dry powder uniformly to grounded metal parts.
• Curing: Managing oven temperatures and "soak times" to ensure the powder melts and cross-links into a hard, durable finish.

Industrial Liquid Painting

• Mixing: Preparing primers, enamels, or polyurethanes by mixing resins, catalysts, and thinners to exact specifications.
• Spray Techniques: Utilizing HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) or airless spray systems to achieve a smooth, "orange-peel" free finish.

Quality Control & Maintenance

• Inspection: Using Mil-thickness gauges to verify coating depth and performing "cross-hatch" adhesion tests.
• Equipment Care: Daily cleaning of spray guns, booths, and filters to prevent colour contamination.

Education and experience

·       ITI with 8-10 years' experience in sheet metal fabrication, preferred are from Marine/Aerospace industry or low batch production environment

·       Minimum 5-6 years of Proficiency with spray paintings, powder coatings
