Job Description: Foreign Trade Executive Department: Foreign Trade / Supply Chain / Commercial Location: Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) Control Panel Manufacturing Unit Reporting To: Procurement Head / Commercial Head Position Summary The Foreign Trade Executive will be responsible for managing import and export activities related to the manufacturing of Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) Control Panels. The role involves coordinating with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal departments to ensure timely procurement of imported materials and smooth export of finished products while complying with international trade regulations. Key Roles & Responsibilities Import Management Coordinate import of electronic components, PLCs, relays, connectors, semiconductors, switchgear, communication modules, and other control panel materials. Monitor shipment schedules and follow up with overseas suppliers for on-time dispatch. Review and verify import documentation such as: Commercial Invoice Packing List Bill of Lading / Airway Bill Certificate of Origin Insurance Documents Coordinate customs clearance activities with CHA (Custom House Agents). Track shipments and ensure timely movement of materials from port to factory. Export Management Coordinate export shipments of control panels, electrical cabinets, and related products. Prepare and review export documentation. Ensure compliance with customs regulations and export documentation requirements. Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics service providers. Regulatory & Compliance Management Ensure compliance with DGFT, Customs, FEMA, RBI, and Foreign Trade Policy requirements. Maintain records for import-export transactions and statutory documentation. Monitor changes in customs duties, trade regulations, and international trade policies. Support audits related to foreign trade and customs compliance. Commercial & Cost Control Monitor import freight, customs duty, insurance, and logistics costs. Coordinate with Finance for LC (Letter of Credit), advance payments, remittances, and foreign currency transactions. Assist in cost analysis of imported materials and landed cost calculations. Support duty optimization and cost-saving initiatives. Vendor & Logistics Coordination Coordinate with international suppliers regarding shipment schedules and documentation. Develop strong relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners. Resolve shipment delays, customs issues, and documentation discrepancies. Internal Coordination Work closely with Procurement, Planning, Stores, Finance, and Production departments. Ensure imported materials are available as per production schedules. Provide shipment status updates and lead-time information to stakeholders. Key Accountabilities (KRAs) On-time customs clearance of import shipments. Timely availability of imported materials for production. Accuracy of import-export documentation. Compliance with foreign trade regulations. Reduction in shipment delays and logistics costs. Effective coordination with suppliers and logistics partners. Educational Qualification Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field. Certification in Import-Export Management or International Trade will be an added advantage. Experience 3-8 years of experience in Foreign Trade, Import-Export Operations, Logistics, or International Procurement. Experience in manufacturing industries such as Electrical, Electronics, Control Panels, Renewable Energy, Industrial Automation, or Wind Energy preferred. Position-Specific Requirements Knowledge of Import & Export procedures. Experience handling customs clearance and shipping documentation. Understanding of INCOTERMS (FOB, CIF, EXW, DDP, etc.). Knowledge of DGFT regulations and Foreign Trade Policy. Familiarity with Letter of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees, and international payments. Experience coordinating with freight forwarders and customs brokers. Knowledge of landed cost calculation and duty structures. Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP HANA.
